It appears widespread reports that dancehall musician, Shatta Wale was shot by gunmen are untrue. This is because the musician has revealed that he is currently “on the run” as he claimed his life is in danger.
In a post on social media, Shatta Wale stated that he felt threatened and traumatized following claims by a self-styled prophet that he would be shot on October 18, 2021 hence, his decision to “do what is right in the eyes of God”.
Taking on the Ghana Police Service for failing to take any action to protect him after the claims by the said prophet, the controversial musician said “I won’t wait for Ghana Police to call my father and tell him his son (Shatta Wale) got shot this afternoon. I won’t wait for Ghana media houses to spread news to my fans about me being shot because all we wish in this country is for dead people and funerals”.
He added “yes, my life is in Danger and I am on the run till this country shows me there are laws”. He apologized to two of his team members for using their devices probably to feign the gun attack on him and to his father for putting him through stress as well as to his fans, stating “to my fans, I am sorry but I will have to fight this fight alone and get it done”.
He lashed out at pastors and prophets for always plotting “evil” to have prophesies they make come to pass.
“If this will make me stop music like how many want me to stop then so be it because I am tired of the negativity in this country,” he concluded.

This comes on the back of announcement by the Ghana Police Service that it has launched a probe into the alleged attack on the dancehall musician. As part of the investigation, the police said it has searched for him at various hospitals in Accra and made contacts with his family members and friends but is yet to ascertain his whereabouts.
