The President of Groupe Nduom, Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom, has painfully recounted the effect of the collapse of his businesses on him and thousands of others.

According to him, the revocation of the license of his company and several others has brought pain, suffering and health implications on many people.

It will be recalled that the Bank of Ghana on the bases of insolvency revoked the licenses of 23 Savings and Loans companies on August 16, 2019, which GN Savings and Loans was part.

Speaking in an interview a year on, Dr. Nduom suggested his ordeal was orchestrated and carried out efficiently by some persons while disclosing that “I have felt the pain of customers caught in the engineered liquidity crisis.”

The one time accomplished entrepreneur who is said to have employed thousands of Ghanaians and obtained the accolade ‘Edwumawura’ made biblical references to suggest judgment awaits persons behind the collapse of his businesses that has caused many people pain.

“I have an unshakable belief that while there is judgment here on earth, we will all have to give account to the Higher Judge above one day. What is covered by darkness, documents hidden, plans hatched behind closed doors to make others suffer will come to light,” he said.

He stressed that he has over the past one year taken several steps aimed at restoring “the rights which were wrongfully taken away from me on that day by the BoG. While the matter is still in court, I will continue to stay away from the substantive matter”.

Dr. Nduom further recounted the colossal support his company which started as First National Savings and Loans gave to thousands of Ghanaian small scale businesses “who owe their beginning to the small loans they took from First National. Included in this number are tens of local contractors who were helped to secure and execute GETFund, cocoa roads and Road Fund contracts”.

The one time Presidential Candidate said August 16, 2019 will continue to be “a day of infamy, treachery and robbery of the rights and assets of indigenous Ghanaian entrepreneurship”.
