Reggae musician and Radio Presenter, Abubakar Ahmed popularly known as Blakk Rasta has lashed out at rapper Sarkodie, describing him as arrogant.
Blakk Rasta said the rapper, who was once humble, has become extremely arrogant and has no regard for anybody as result, he does not support his music.
“Sarkodie was humble when he was up and coming. Even a goat, he would greet on his way during those days but now in his own words, he said since he shot to fame he is unable to answer phone calls not even his biological mother’s call. This is not a guy I would like to support. He is too arrogant for my liking and I say it with passion. Listen to this nonsense, his own biological mother he said she bitterly complains that he doesn’t pick her calls. Then what is your purpose on earth if you have no respect for your own mother?” he stated on his show on Accra-based Zylofon FM.
The radio presenter said this in reaction to comments Sarkodie made seeking to dismiss rapper, Edem’s concerns about his refusal to respond to his phone calls when they had a schedule for a music video shoot.
Edem had lamented about how Sarkodie blatantly refused to respond to his phone calls and failed to show up for the video shoot, an action which he said made him lose huge amount of money.
But responding to Edem’s concerns in a radio interview, Sarkodie stated that his failure to respond to his calls was not deliberate, disclosing that he has a difficulty answering or returning phone calls. He said his own mother has had cause to complain about his habit and thus, he could not fathom why Edem would take the issue to heart.
Blakk Rasta, who appeared visible infuriated by the comments, said the rapper’s response to the concerns of his colleague is an indication that he is arrogant and has no regard for people including his mother. He recounted how Sarkodie was humble and respectful when he was up and coming but completely turned for the worst after he shot to fame.
He called on the rapper’s fans to boycott his music and unfollow him on social media if he fails to apologize for such comments.
“You have an appointment with a guy. He has spent so much money for a shoot. You know how much it takes to shoot a standard music video? You are supposed to go for the shoot and he is calling you and refused to answer. Then you come out with this trash that you don’t understand why Edem should take it to heart because you even do it to your mother?
He need to apologize to his mothers and his fans or else, if I were you, I would unfollow him and make him a nonentity,” he said angrily.
