Broadcast journalist, Gifty Andoh Appiah has resigned from media conglomerate, Multimedia Group Limited (MGL).
Ms. Andoh Appiah who was the host of current affairs show, The Pulse on JoyNews, a subsidiary of the media conglomerate, announced her resignation from the media outlet after her show on Friday, July 9, 2021.
In a circular shared on social media announcing her resignation, she expressed gratitude to the company for offering her such an opportunity and her colleagues for their support during her 9-year stay at the media outlet as well as viewers of the JoyNews Channel particularly that of The Pulse show for their ardent viewership.
While urging viewers to stick to the show, she indicated that her colleague, Aisha Ibrahim will be taking over from her as host of The Pulse show.
“I am grateful to MGL for the opportunity to serve you, our audience and to impact society. Thanks to the team and all the technical people behind the scenes who make our work possible. Aisha Ibrahim takes over from me as the new host of the Pulse. I am taking a bow,” excerpt of the circular read.
Gifty Andoh Appiah worked with MGL for 9 years hosting various programs on JoyNews TV and Joy FM including The Pulse show which she hosted for 6 years.
She got recognized for her works at the media conglomerate winning various awards both locally and internationally including being awarded the CNN African Journalist of the Year (TV category) in 2013.
