Radio presenter, Blessed Godsbrain Smart popularly known as Captain Smart has joined Media General, owners of TV3, Onua FM and TV, and host of other stations.
This comes after the radio presenter announced his resignation from the Angel Broadcasting Network (ABN). Captain Smart, who was host of Angel FM’s flagship morning show, Anopa Bɔfoɔ and Director of Operations of the station, was suspended for allegedly slandering President Akufo-Addo, Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the Inspector General of Police and other government officials.
The suspension, General Manager of Angel FM explained, was handed as punishment to the popular radio presenter by Chairman of the Angel Group of Companies after Captain Smart defied his orders to resist from vilifying government officials.
But Captain Smart, who believes his suspension was politically motivated, resigned from the radio station on May 28, 2021, about a week to the end of his suspension..
Just few days after his resignation, TV3 announced that it had a “big surprise” for its viewers on its morning show on June 1, 2021 and it turned out that the surprise is the employment of Captain Smart by its mother company.
Captain Smart will be hosting shows on Media General Twi-speaking Onua FM and Onua TV.
Appearing on TV3’s New Day where he was unveiled, the radio presenter promised his listeners nothing but the best as he prepares an interesting program lineup that will serve their tastes.
