Staunch supporter and Member of Communications team of the National Democratic Congress Stephen Atubiga has charged foot soldiers of the party to serve any appointee of the next Mahama administration with hefty slaps for asking for qualifications before offering employment.

The popular NDC member proceeded to serve a warning notice to appointees of the next Mahama government not to seek qualification or educational background before offering permanent employment to party foot soldiers.

According to him, the governing New Patriotic Party has set a standard for engaging party supporters and offering them jobs in security services and other sectors, which must be replicated by the NDC.

“I want to tell all party foot soldiers that if God willing John Mahama comes back to power and you go to any appointee to get employment, slap the person if he or she enquires about your qualification. After all, they did not ask you for qualifications when they paid you small money to go and carry out dirty assignments for them. I’ll pay one thousand Ghana cedis for each slap you give,” he said in a video seen by dreamzfmonline.com.

The one time Presidential hopeful argued that politics is a business in which many people invest their money, time, intellect, energy, love among many others to support their parties. He therefore finds it ridiculous for any top political appointee to demand qualification before employment for grass root supporters who have toiled to gain victory for the party.

“You deserve jobs in the police and military. Seek for permanent jobs. It is he who suffers that must eat. When we were in power, we didn’t listen to advice. We didn’t respect and use power well. People have suffered for the party since 1992 and do not have common bicycles but when their children are seeking for jobs you would be asking for qualifications. I insist that each slap given will attract payment from me,” he added.

The popular party man, widely known for his incredible utterances on political issues was recently heavily condemned for threatening mayhem if flagbearer of the NDC John Mahama was invited by the police CID or Special Prosecutor over the Airbus scandal.
