The EC’s Chairperson has come under severe public criticism over her handling of the conduct of the December 7 polls.
Madam Jean Mensa who spearheaded the conduct of the 2020 presidential and parliamentary elections which outcome is being challenged by the 2020 presidential candidate of the NDC, John Dramani Mahama has been criticized for poorly conducting the December 7 elections. The NDC and some Civil Organizations (CSOs) questioned her competence following numerous reported discrepancies that characterized the results of the December polls with some calling for her resignation.
Mr. Mahama and his NDC also accused her of rigging the election in favor of the New Patriotic Party and its presidential candidate.
However, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and its supporters believe the accusations against the EC’s Chairperson are baseless as they argue that the election was free, fair and transparent.
