Tema Youth SC and Revelation FC are set to receive more than €1.2m in development fees, two months after the highly rated defensive midfielder completed a 50 million euro move to Emirates Stadium.

Per FIFA rules, both Revelation FC and Tema Youth SC which are teams that Partey played for during his formative years and played a role in the player’s development are expected to get a sum from the bounty deal.

However, the founder of Tema Youth Football Club, Wilfred Kwaku Osei has said, his club is yet to receive any financial commitments from the deal that took Thomas Partey from Atletico Madrid to Arsenal on deadline last summer.

Meanwhile Revelation FC, based in Ashaiman area which falls under the Greater Accra Regional FA, have received a notification for €750,000. Whilst Tema Youth SC, which is a division one club is also set to receive in excess of €500,000. The higher the value of the player, the higher the amount that trickles down.

Thomas Partey moved to Atletico Madrid in 2012 as a teenager and joined their under 19’s side. Upon promotion to Atletico Madrid B and loan spells at RCD Mallorca and UD Almeria, the midfielder finally broke into the first team in the 2015/16 season and has since been a key member in Diego Simone’s side.

He spent nine years at Atletico, winning the UEFA Europa League and UEFA Super Cup in 2018. Partey also played in the UEFA Champions League final in 2016.
