Executive Director of Media Foundation for West Africa (MFWA) has taken on outgoing Member of Parliament for the Tempane Constituency, Joseph Dindiok Kpemka for attributing his defeat in the December 7 polls to falsehood peddled against him by his opponent.

Joseph Dindiok Kpemka in an interview on Accra-based Citi FM likened his defeat to a victory of false political propaganda over development.

According to him, his constituents were poised to reward him with another term for his service to them until few days to the elections when his opponent started peddling untruths about his involvement in chieftaincy issues and his projections of some chiefs over others. This, he said, courted disaffection for him culminating in to his defeat.

“You have a situation where people do not talk about the development you have initiated. They don’t criticize that.  somebody goes to talk about chieftaincy matters and says a certain chief in this area is being projected over other chiefs and it because that other chief is related to me or related to NPP.

The verdict was a unanimous [victory for me] until three days to the election when propaganda of a venal nature, well-choreographed and churned out and calculated in a manner that it will be taken out there and I will not have an opportunity to rebut,” he said.

But reacting to the Deputy Minister of Justice and Attorney General’s remarks, Mr. Braimah criticized him for suggesting that his constituents are gullible and undiscerning to have fallen for “propaganda over development” as he claimed.

To him, Mr. Kpempa’s remarks smack of arrogance and an insult to the intelligence of the people of the Tempane Constituency.

“No. They voted against your arrogance. Don’t insult the intelligence of the people of Tempane,” Mr. Braimah wrote on social media.
