Nigerian singer Davido has made history after his second studio album released in 2019 officially reached more than one billion streams across all streaming platforms. This was announced by Columbia Records UK.
“The mother of all record labels” made the announcement on Tuesday July 29, 2020 on its social media handle.
“HUGE Congrats to @davido- ‘A Good Time’ has officially reached over 1 Billion streams!” A post on its twitter handle read.
This makes “A Good Time” album the most streamed Afrobeats album and the first Afrobeats album to record over billion streams and within a year.
The album was released on November 22, 2019, through Davido Music Worldwide (DMW), RCA Records and Sony Music. It has some of Davido’s most popular songs including “If” produced by Tekno, “Fall” produced by Kiddominant, “Blow My Mind” featuring American singer, Chris Brown, “Assurance” produced by Speroach Beatz, “Risky” featuring Jamaican music star, Popcaan.
Davido announced a North American tour to promote the album in December 2019. The tour was scheduled to begin in December, 2019 and end in March, 2020 but was postponed in March, 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Following the announcement by Colombia Records UK, fans of the musician took to social media to express their excitement about the success of his album while teasing his arch-rival, Wizkid and Burna Boy who recently called Davido out for declaring himself and Wizkid as “Greatest of all time”.
To the fans of Davido, the battle for supremacy between Davido and Wizkid is settled as this feat puts him ahead of Wizkid while at the same time mocking Burna Boy for his refusal to acknowledge others’ achievement.
