Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress John Dramani Mahama has warned against attempts to subvert the will of the people relative to the 2020 general elections.
According to the former President, the NDC has won 140 seats in parliament, an indication that the people of Ghana want change and are tired with the Akufo-Addo government.
Addressing the media at his cantonments residence in Accra ahead of the official declaration of the 2020 election results by the Electoral Commission, Mr. Mahama noted that there are attempts to deny the National Democratic Congress its victory in the polls through the use of the military and others.
“We thank the Ghanaian people for the confidence they have expressed in us. It is clear the Ghanaian people want a change in this country. Ghanaians are tired of the Akufo Addo government. We thank the electorates for giving us a working majority in parliament; 140 seats in parliament which is a majority. No attempt should be made to subvert that,” he said.
He further stated that the NDC will resist such attempts to distort the outcome of the election.
“I want to state categorically that and firmly that I have made congratulated any person and no attempt should be made to steal this election, we will resist it,” he forcefully stated.
