National Youth Organiser of the governing New Patriotic Party Henry Nana Boakye has said he is not the person behind derogatory tribal comments made against the person of the former Special Prosecutor Martin Amidu.
Mr. Martin Amidu in a release disclosed text messages sent to him by one Nana B, raining insults on him following Mr. Amidu’s decision to resign from his position as Special Prosecutor and subsequently accused President Nana Addo of frustrating the fight against corruption.
The NPP National Youth Organiser who is popularly called Nana B has been referred to as the person behind the attack on Mr. Amidu.
However, the NPP youth leader has explained that he is not the person the former Special Prosecutor has discovered.
“I would want to place on record that the said Nana B, referred to in Mr Martin Amidu’s most recent letter is not me and has nothing to do with me. Neither the telephone number nor the email address referenced in said letter are similarly not mine and are not known to me. I therefore sincerely advise that the media and members of the public calling me with regards to the publication by Mr Martin Amidu take note of this,” he said in a statement.
Martin Amidu said he received a phone call from one ‘Nana B’ to which he did not respond to but was later harassed and insulted by the unknown caller via text messages.
He noted among other claims that the texter attacked his ethnicity, referring to him as “Otani Gyimifuo” which means stupid northerner and wondered why his ethnicity should be a matter and used against him following his decision to leave the position he was given.
