Former President John Dramani Mahama in an unusual manner rebuked an overly excited supporter of the National Democratic Congress at a rally.

The former President who appeared displeased by the blowing of a vuvuzela by the party faithful, paused his submission on government’s support to businesses in response to COVID-19 and chided the supporter for obstructing his submission with the loud sound of the vuvuzela.

“Please vuvuzela (blower) keep quiet. If you won’t listen then you leave,” Mr. Mahama said.

The reaction of the National Democratic Congress flagbearer who was addressing chiefs and people of Suhum in the eastern region has sparked interesting reactions on social media.

While some Ghanaians on social media found the reaction of the former President to be strange and embarrassing to the party supporter, others say he was forthright in stopping the obstruction of the loud vuvuzela sound to his submission on an important matter.
