Dancehall singer, Stonebwoy, has said he is unable to make public his political stance because of his career as a musician.

According to Stonebwoy, though he supports one of the two leading political parties, and will vote for the party in the December polls, he cannot make it public since his position in society has made him a “unifier”.

The multiple award-winning artiste asserted that his role as an entertainer makes it imperative for him to remain neutral in the eyes of his teaming fans so as to effectively contribute his quota to the development of the country.

The ‘putuu’ hit maker, however, indicated his readiness to work with any political party or government in the interest of the Ghanaian people.
“I have always voted. I will vote for that which I think deserves my vote.

If I wasn’t a musician, I will answer that question (which political party I will vote for) and go home. But me being a musician and God blessing me with this task, I have to know what role I play just like the politicians know what role they play. I’m available to serve or also be used by whichever political party or whichever government but for the right thing at the right time,” he said in an interview on Accra-based Joy FM.

He continued to say “as a musician being tasked like this as a unifier, I will love to remain a unifier and leave the politicians to play their politics. If I do go to vote, I know where I will put my vote. Definitely, it will go to either of them (NDC or NPP).”

Ahead of the General Elections in December, a number of entertainers including musician Samini have declared their support publicly for the governing NPP.

But Stonebwoy believes it is wrong for entertainers to publicly declare their political stance since they entertain people across the political divide.
