A former presidential candidate on the ticket of the Convention People’s Party(CPP), Michael Abu Sakara Foster, has asserted that the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) will win the 2020 General Elections, noting that the National Democratic Congress(NDC) led by John Mahama, which is the main opposition party, has no way of winning.
For him, the likelihood that the NPP will win the election is the reason for increased and regular deflections and declarations of support from persons who had been deemed as competitors of the NPP.
“As it becomes clear that Nana and NPP are in a firm position to win the 2020 election defections and declarations from the wood works will emerge with increased frequency. It is now that you will discern the opportunists, charlattans and mercenaries some of who are so called competitors. What is clear is what we have known all along. It was only ever a two horse race with a slight chance that a wounded and tired NDC still ridden by a rejected candidate was the only other option,” he declared in a statement made available on social media.
Dr Sakara, who is a celebrated agronomist, noted that even though voters are not impressed with either the NPP or the NDC, they are left with no other viable alternative, adding that creating an independent alternative will require a lot of cash.
“The voters are not enthused or amused by these two options but what for do?
An independent alternative cannot be marshalled by wishful thinking, without significant amounts of money (millions of USD). That is the naked truth!” He asserted.
Ghanaians will go to the polls on December 7, 2020 to elect a President and parliamentarians. The contest is seen by political analysts as a race between the NPP and NDC, the parties that have dominated the political landscape since the inception of the Fourth Republic in 1992.

So with all strategies and efforts for an independent reform based agenda spent, we are realistically looking at Mr Nana of Mr Mahama.
Either way the odds favor Nana but the real question is what do either of them offer that would justify your effort to vote?
Which one would better serve the national interest objectives and how would one secure commitment in return for one’s vote.
We must each think about this reality as we go to vote based on our individual choices.
We should not be easily swayed by wanting to be with the winner without consideration of the desired outcomes.
It is the only way to keep your conscience. No matter the outcome, you will know that you voted for a candidate based on ideals you hold dear.
Good voting and let us keep in touch. The fight continues after election.
