Aggrieved customers of defunct gold dealership firm, Menzgold, have accused the Akufo-Addo administration of being in cahoots with Nana Appiah Mensah(NAM 1), founder and Chief Executive Officer(CEO) of Menzgold, saying that if the Government were not in bed with NAM 1, it would have compelled him to pay their deposits by now.
Yesterday October 30, 2020, the aggrieved customers besieged the premises of Zylofon Media, owned by NAM 1, to demand yet again that their deposits be paid.
As they demonstrated in the premises of Zylofon Media, some of them claimed that the government was in bed with NAM 1 to deny them their money.
NAM 1 has been put before court following the collapse of Menzgold last year and his inability to pay the depositors. His properties have also been supposedly confiscated by the state through the Economic and Organised Crime Office(EOCO).
But the customers have cast doubt on the genuineness of government’s action.
“The system is indeed not working!!! No caring Government will sit aloof and watch one man(nam1) to continue living lavishly whiles victims are dying everyday! Are all these properties [Zylofon Media] not part of the confiscated assets by EOCO?” the customers asked.
The insist that Government needs to do more to make sure that they get their deposits back. “Justice needs to be served menzgold victims!” They demanded.
Meanwhile NAM 1 is yet to comment on the latest actions by his aggrieved customers.
