Freelance investigative journalist Manasseh Azure Awuni has noted that the media’s role in the fight against corruption has dwindled, scoring the media 3/10 in its fight against the canker.
Mr Azure Awuni stressed that even though it is the media that should be holding public officers to account, it is not playing its role as expected.
He made this known in an ongoing lecture in remembrance of the late Finance Minister Kwadwo Baah-Wiredu for 2020 dubbed, the Baah-Wiredu Memorial Lecture.
Mr Azure Awuni lamented that some journalists have become an obstacle to the corruption fight instead of being the fighters themselves as enjoined by the 1992 Constitution.
