A Deputy National Communications Director of the governing New Patriotic Party(NPP) Akbar Yussif Rohullah Khomeini has reacted with anger to claims by former Member of Parliament(MP) for Zebilla, John Ndebugre that President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has employed only people from his ethnic group at the seat of government, and that it is only Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia who has his tribespeople in the Jubilee House.
Mr Ndebugre, who recently declared his support for John Mahama, is reported to have said that “the person [John Mahama] who had only one person in the government and a few friends, you said he was running a family and friends government but now if you go to the Jubilee House, you will hardly see Nuhu, Ibrahim, Abugre, Akagre unless you go to that Mamprusi Man’s section.”
Reacting to the quote attributed to John Ndebugre, Mr Khomeini, who works in the Vice President’s office, lashed out at the renowned lawyer, calling him out for making derogatory and tribalistic comments.
“Ndebugre is a foolish man, with all due respect! His views doesn’t reflect his age. He is a dangerous tribalist! I hope JM would condemn him for using the tribe of the Vice President to derogatorily describe him! Foolish!” He wrote.
President Akufo-Addo has been accused by the National Democratic Congress(NDC) of unprecedented nepotism. The party has said that the President has appointed many of his relatives into government after promising in opposition not to do so.
