Persons armed with knives and guns have allegedly intensified robbery attacks on students of the University of Cape Coast as the students study deep into the night for their examination.
The suspected armed robbers rob the students of their valuables and sometimes deliberately inflict knife wounds on the victims for no apparent reason or when the students try to resist being robbed.
The students have taken to social media, especially twitter, to complain about the seeming inaction of the school authorities as the hoodlums unleash terror on them.
According to the students, robbery attacks on campus have become common on campus and not even persistent complaints have led to decisive action by the university authorities.
On social media, the students are imploring the security agencies, especially the police to act swiftly to protect students on campus.
University authorities are yet to formally comment on the matter but police sources say there are dedicated patrol vehicles on campus to protect students.
Some sources however indicate that the students may have raised a false alarm yesterday even though robberies occur on campus. They contend that the videos trending on social media have nothing to do with robberies on UCC campus.
