The Member of Parliament for Bolgatanga East Constituency in the Upper East Region, Dr. Dominic Akuritinga Ayine has called out the District Chief Executive, Rev. Emmanuel Abugre Abole for allegedly sabotaging the successful completion of a number of projects he had initiated in the constituency.

The former Deputy Attorney General triumphantly visited the offices of the Electoral Commission on a motorbike, in the company of jubilant supporters to submit his parliamentary nomination forms.

Addressing journalists and party supporters after filing his forms, he indicated that the delay in opening the Zuarungu market, the construction of an ultra-modern library among others were all part of attempts to thwart his development efforts and present him to his constituents as a non-performing Member of Parliament.

The two term MP who is seeking re-election said despite the attempts to derail his efforts, he will commission a school in the next few weeks and ensure the construction of a few others.

“When the NPP took over and the fact that the Hon. Abole became our DCE and stopped the opening of the Zuarungu market, he stopped the construction of the library. He stopped several projects in this constituency just to make the point that I am a non-performing MP; but Akuritinga Ayine is never a non-performing MP. Despite the fact that he has stopped the projects that are funded by government, we have still been able to build schools. We will be commissioning the Zonezore school complex in the next few weeks, we’re building a school at Dobila and we have done a number of boreholes far better than the boreholes that he claims he has done”.

The Lawmaker further assured the Electoral Commission that the NDC in Bolga East will abide by the rules of the elections if they’re conducted in a Free and fair manner, reiterating the notice served by the flagbearer of the NDC, John Mahama, that the NDC will not accept the results of a flawed elections while admonishing his followers to engage in an issue based campaign devoid of insults.
