ISAAC ADONGO- NDC MP, BOLGATANGA CENTRAL CONSTITUENCY

National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament(MP) for Bolgatanga Central, Isaac Adongo, has President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo will likely resort to commissionong zebra crossings and speed ramps in an atempt to win the 2020 elections.

According to him, a decision by the President to commission streetlights in Bolgatanga demonstrates that the New Patriotic Party government has failed to bring grand developmental projects to the upper east region.

He urged his constituents not to vote for President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, saying that if he can commission streetlights in 2020, he will only return in 2024 to commission zebra crossings and speed ramps.

Speaking to the press after successfully filing his nominations today, October 8, 2020, the MP criticised the President for failing to bring any meaningful development to his constituents and residents of the Upper East Region as a whole, a reason for which he has had to commission streetlights and traffic lights as if they were grand projects.

Mr Adongo, considered a blunt and vociferous critic of the President, asserted that his constituents and Ghanaians as a whole have experienced the governance of both President Akufo-Addo and former President John Mahama and John Mahama’s performance as President, he pointed out, is clearly better than President Akufo-Addo’s performance.

“And that December 7 the people of Ghana have tasted the NPP under Akufo-Addo. We have tasted John Dramani Mahama and we know that we’re better than streetlights. And that the people of Bolgatanga Central after three and half years now have to parade the streets just for him to commission a streetlight for the people of Ghana and the traffic lights. We are better than that!” He emphasized.

He continued that “at this time in 2016, John Mahama was called the Commissioner General because he was commissioning big projects that saved the lives of people. I know that if you give Akufo-Addo another four years, what he will come here to do is to commission zebra crossing and speed ramps.”

The President, who is currently in the Upper East Region, commissioned ultramodern streetlights installed in the regional capital, Bolgatanga yesterday. The commissioning has generated a lot of controversy. While supporters of the President insist that the commissioning was befitting of him, his critics maintain that streetlights, no matter what description is given them, do not deserve commissioning by the President…
