Stalwart of the governing New Patriotic Party(NPP) Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko has taken on some appointees of the Akufo-Addo administration for failing to campaign supposedly due to their busy schedules, wondering who it is they want to campaign for the reelection of the NPP so that they can be reappointed.
While praising Communications Minister Ursula Owusu-Ekuful for showing exceptional commitment to combining her ministerial duties, parliamentary duties and campaigning for the NPP, Mr Otchere-Darko lashed out at appointees reneging on their obligation to campaign.
“Among the best messengers for the work this government is doing must be the appointees. I see Ursula to be among the exceptional ones because as MP she manages to do her constituency work and still travels the country and airwaves to tell the story of the ruling party.
For the ministers, CEOs and other appointees who are too “busy” to campaign, May I ask, who should campaign for you to be re-appointed?” He wondered.
Ms Owusu-Ekuful has been an adept communicator for the NPP even as Minister and Member of Parliament( MP). She was recently in the Upper East and Upper West Regions to campaign for the NPP. She toured constituencies and held meetings with some party groupings.
It is unclear who these ‘busy’ appointees are, but clearly Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko, a perceived wielder of enormous power within the Akufo-Addo administration, knows exactly who he is referring to.
