DR. NICHOLAS NAANI-ZANGINA, A MEMBER OF THE COMMUNICATIONS TEAM OF THE NATIONAL DEMOCRATIC CONGRESS (NDC) IN THE UPPER EAST REGION

Dr. Nicholas Naani-Zangina, a Member of the Communications Team of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Upper East Region has noted the overwhelming victory of the party in the 2024 election does not in any way put the party and government under pressure.

While acknowledging that the massive support in the 2024 elections speaks of the high level of expectations, he believes the party has what it takes to deliver on its campaign promises and honor the trust reposed in them.

According to him, the NDC has, in part, demonstrated that it is capable of leading the charge in stabilizing the economy and leading in a manner that resonates with the desires of the people.

Speaking Wednesday on the State of Our Nation, a current affairs program on Dreamz FM, Dr. Naani-Zangina explained that the appreciation of the NDC in regions that are not traditional strongholds goes to suggest that Ghanaians trust President John Dramani Mahama as capable of managing the economy.

He is confident that the NDC will deliver on its four-year mandate to the admiration of Ghanaians.

With the few months in government, Dr. Naani-Zangina is confident the administration has had a good take-off and will surely deliver on its manifesto promises.

“I don’t think that we are under any pressure because we have done it before and we would do it again. When you look at the track record of our party, we have proven beyond reasonable doubt that we are the better managers of the economy as far as political democracy is concerned. I strongly believe that the President is a good candidate to deliver the dividends of democracy to the masses.

He has done it before and he would do it without any kind of pressure. They gave us the mandate and we do not take it for granted we have delivered on our 120-day promises and by 2028, we would have delivered on the promises we made to Ghanaians,” he said with optimism.

He disagreed with the view that the decision of the government to hold an economic forum shows how the administration lacked ideas on how to turn the fortunes of Ghanaians around for the better.

“Let nobody deceive him or herself that hosting an economic dialogue meant that the NDC and the government are bereft of ideas. The beauty of democracy is that everybody should be involved,” he said.
