As part of the Ghana Month celebration, 360 Montessori School in the Bolgatanga-East District of the Upper East Region has embarked on a fascinating tour to the Sirigu Women’s Organization for Pottery and Arts (SWOPA).
The excursion, aimed at promoting cultural awareness and appreciation, saw the enthusiastic pupils of 360 Montessori School exploring the vibrant premises of SWOPA. The students were treated to a captivating experience, discovering the rich cultural heritage of the region.
The Ghana Month, which saw its 68th Anniversary Celebration across the country on March 6, 2025, is a significant event in the country’s calendar, aimed at promoting national unity, cultural awareness, and patriotism.
The tour by 360 Montessori School is a testament to the school’s commitment to providing its students with a well-rounded education that includes cultural awareness and appreciation.

During the tour, the pupils were taken through the various beautiful scenes at SWOPA, learning about the history and significance behind each artwork. They also had the opportunity to learn the art of pottery and create their own unique art pieces under the guidance of skilled artisans.
The visit to SWOPA provided the students with a hands-on experience, allowing them to connect with the local culture and traditions. It was an enriching experience that broadened their knowledge and appreciation of Ghana’s rich cultural diversity.
Speaking to Dreamz News, Madam Bridget Akasise Adongo, manageress of SWOPA, expressed her delight at the visit by 360 Montessori School, stating that “It was a great opportunity for the students of 360 Montessori school to learn about the arts and culture”.
She emphasized the importance of teaching younger generations about these values, highlighting the need to inculcate them early on, as she urged all schools in the region to do same.
