Songstress Wendy Shay has petitioned the President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to intervene in the affairs of Ghanaian creatives.
According to her, their growth is been stifled by regulatory bodies in the country.
Wendy Shay who has been on the neck of the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) says the Gaming Commission has also barred celebrities from promoting betting service; an avenue where they were making money.
To her, the President’s intervention is needed because most Ghanaian celebrities will go broke if something is not done about the regulations and cutting off celebrities.
Her petition to the President read “Dear @NAkufoAddo1st, FDA stopped celebs from promoting alcoholic bev’s making us lose jobs to Nigerian celebrities Gaming commission just stopped us from promoting betting serv. So how do we survive as creative persons in this pandemic? #Savethecreativearts #bringbackourjobs”
