The Vice President promised to support the victims put up much stronger houses when the rains are over.

Rice and sugar and milk for the sustenance of the people for now. We are also adding one hundred thousand Cedis to them so that the food items that are required will he purchased, more will be purchased. I have asked at least 500 bags of corn should be purchased to supplement what has already been brought…
By the grace of God when the rains stop, we will help them to build their houses again. And we pray for the rains to stop so that those houses will he constructed in a better way to withstand future flooding. So this is what brings me here,” he said at Banawa.
The affected residents were full of praise for Dr Bawumia for his timely intervention.
The affected villages, Gaagbini, Dimia, Tinkaya and Banawa, were submerged in flood waters after days of torrential rains that caused some dams to break their banks and flow into the villages, flooding them.
The floods have destroyed farmlands and homes and displaced hundreds of the residents. A three-year old child has unfortunately lost his life.
