Parliament has approved President John Dramani Mahama’s first set of ministerial nominees.
The approval of Dr. Dominic Ayine as Minister of Justice and Attorney-General, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson as Minister of Finance and John Abdulai Jinapor as Minister of Energy followed recommendation by Parliament’s Appointment Committee.
The Committee vetted the 3 nominees – one after the other – on January 13, 2025, probing their understanding of the jobs they have been handed and their visions for their respective ministries.
After the assessment, it recommended their approval in its report to the House.
The report was adopted by the House today and approved by both sides of the House after intense deliberations.
The 3 now awaits swearing-in by the President.
