The Deputy Regional Communication Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Upper East Region has resigned from his position.

In a letter addressed to the Regional Director of Communication of the party, Andrew Atariwini served in that capacity since 2022 said his resignation took effect immediately.

“I make this decision with a clear conscience of my unwavering commitment,  dedication and service to the party in the aforementioned capacity in the last few years,” excerpt of the letter read.

“My ethos in this regard remains solid and sound for the support of the ideology and corporate vision of the NPP.”

He thanked the Communication Director for, “for the trust and confidence reposed in me to serve by your side” and the regional executives, “ for their indulgence of me to contribute my little to the party”.

Atariwini further acknowledged  the support of his former communicators, stating, “your warmth, love and support will forever be with me; God bless you all”.

His resignation comes days after he called out regional leadership of the NPP for failing to take responsibility of the party’s humiliating defeat in the region.

In an interview on State of Our Nation on Dreamz FM days ago, he asserted although the party’s performance in the December elections was generally poor, its defeat in the Upper East Region left much to be desired.

He, therefore, expected party’s leadership to take responsibility for the defeat and apologize to its rank and file.
