TEACHERS OF ST. JOSEPH PRIMARY AND JHS AT GET-TOGETHER

In a bid to motivate teachers to render service in the community, the Assembly Member for the Soe-Yipaala Electoral Area in the Bolgatanga Municipality of the Upper East Region, Dr. Justice Aduko has feted the teachers of the Saint Joseph KG, Primary and Junior High schools of Soe Kugadoone.

The get-together was done on behalf of members of the community, who also sought to honour two retiring teachers of both schools, who have over the years committed themselves to nurturing the next generation of leaders through education.

Held on Thursday, December 19, 2024, at the Rock Gardens Eco-Resort, the event was graced by the Regent of Soe Mr Anakila Agandaa, a representative of the Tindaana Mr Ayine, a former Assemblyman of Soe/Yipaala Ben Azompae-Yine and other dignitaries.

Chairing the occasion, Stanley Abopam, National Public Relations Officer of  BONABOTO commended the teachers for their years of dedication to duty, and perseverance despite all the odds against them.

He said their output is showing in the improved results that the children have achieved these past two years. He added that when he arrived at the grounds and saw his primary school teacher amongst the teachers who were being honoured he knew that the community and for that matter, the learners are in safe hands.

Accompanied by his friend, the two committed an amount of GH¢1000 towards the occasion.

On his part, the Regent of Soe, Mr Anabila Agandaa, while thanking all who gathered especially the teachers,  said the community was grateful to them for the way they have imparted knowledge to the kids in the community to prepare them adequately to be tomorrow’s leaders. He pledged his support for them and said his doors are always open to understand the difficulties they may be facing in their line of duty and how the community can play a role in ensuring that things are improved.

Largely, the teachers raised concerns about community members, who usually come to the school to harass them whenever they attempt to discipline their wards who have gone against school regulations.

The former Assemblyman for the Ben Azompae – yine in consultation with the regent announced to the gathering that in the not-too-distant future, the regent and his elders will call a meeting of the stakeholders so that together with the teachers they would agree on the mode of disciplinary actions that could be meted out to recalcitrant pupils.

The retiring teachers, Madam Judith Kane, the headmistress of the St. Joseph Primary and Madam Angela of the J.H.S were presented with citations and an undisclosed amount of money.

Addressing the gathering, Dr Justice Aduko said he was delighted that the teachers and all the dignitaries had answered his call and had cooperated with the chairman for the successful hosting of the programme. He also thanked all those, who had assisted him in organizing the occasion and hoped that they would continue to cooperate for the benefit of our children’s future.

He expressed gratitude to Gabriel Asumboya A.K.A Sakora of Vikandi Enterprise for donating GH¢1,000 and the Regent of Bolga-Soe for also donating GH¢200 towards the organization of the event.
