The Bolgatanga Central Constituency Organizer of the governing New Patriotic Party Maxwell Aburiya has denied reports that he has kept to his vow to retire from politics if Vice-President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia lost the December 7 elections.
Maxwell Aburiya had vowed during his appearance on a political talk show on Bolgatanga-based A1 Radio on March 13, 2024 to hang his political boots if the NPP flagbearer was not declared winner of the just ended presidential election.
Following the loss of the NPP candidate to John Dramani Mahama of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), the now President-elect, there have been calls on him to honour his vow.
But in a statement, Maxwell Aburiya said reports that he had tendered his resignation letter from his position and party are fake news churned out by the NDC “seeking to destroy my good earn reputation to my party and the public”.
“I call on the general public and media houses to disregard this claim from the camp of the NDC in the region just to destroy me due to the hard work I rendered to my party and PC during the elections”.
“Arrogant, misdemeanor, forgery, lies, and propaganda don’t rule a country. They should concentrate on the numerous promises made to Ghanaians”.
While urging the public to disregard a letter purporting to communicate his resignation, he urged the NDC to concentrate on delivering the mandate they have been given and stop malicious attempts to paralyze his spirit of dedication and commitment to his party.
Disregard the fake letter from the NDC camp claiming I have resigned as Bolgatanga Central Constituency Organizer and NPP:
Press Statement from the office of the Bolgatanga Central Constituency Organizer.
=========================
Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen of the public, media houses, and all well wishes of Upper East Region and Ghana at large.
The NDC in the Upper East region are at it again with their usual propaganda, and fake stories seeking to destroy my good earn reputation to my party and the public.
I have chanced on a fake letter purporting that I have tender in my resignation as an NPP member and my position as the Bolgatanga Central Constituency Organizer.
I call on the general public and media houses to disregard this claim from the camp of the NDC in the region just to destroy me due to the hard work I rendered to my party and PC during the elections.
Ladies and gentlemen, I wish to point to the fact that, through our General Secretary Lawyer Justin Frimpong Kudua, the entire Constituencies letter heads format has not been changed.
The mode of writing such letters has a format and must be properly addressed to the right recipients for an onward action.
The above letterhead is fake, punctuation wrong, letter format wrong, recipients wrong, even the NPP logo and elephant is different and many more.
This letter, I believe, was cooked from NDC Binduri internet Cafe as described by Mr. Stephen Atubiga of the NDC.
I call on all to disregard this fake letter and treat it with the pinch of salt as one of the NDC characters of destroying good people.
Arrogant, misdemeanor, forgery, lies, and propaganda don’t rule a country. They should concentrate on the numerous promises made to Ghanaians like
1. Bringing the dollar to 3 cedi per dollar
2. Bringing cement bag to 37 cedi per bag
3. Removing the bet tax, Covid levy, E-levy, and many more.
4. making the chop bars run 4 hours, including making the 1st year University and college students admissions fees free
And many more promises that the Ghanaians are looking forward to.
I will continue to hold your non-performing MPs and your incompetent president to their promises.
Thank you for your attention, NPP sympathizers and friends. Let’s disregard the NDC with their hollow and fake letter.
Maxwell Aburiya still remains a household name in the constituency and the region as a whole.
I am still the Bolgatanga Central Constituency Organizer and still a member of the NPP fraternity, a party of CHOICE.
