Diana Aburiya, the Parliamentary Candidate of the New Patriotic Party in the Bongo Constituency has described a walk organized by the Youth Wing in the Constituency as a symbol of unity and victory.
Speaking to the media on the sidelines of the event christened “Walking for Victory 2024”, Madam Aburiya explained that the event reflects a united party that is poised for victory.
According to Madam Aburiya, the way is clear for the party to consolidate its gains over the years in Bongo by working with a united front to secure the seat for the NPP.
Held over the weekend, the “walking for victory” event had in attendance big wigs of the party including the Regional Minister, regional chairman, regional youth organizer, constituency executives, former parliamentary candidates, and various community youth leaders.
The Walk and Youth Conference in Bongo, according to the party, was meant to energize the youth in the area to work towards victory.
Speaking to the media after the walk and conference, the Parliamentary Candidate, Diana Aburiya, stated that the activity reflects a united party that is ready to work for victory.
She is hopeful that this will manifest in the form of votes for her and Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in the Constituency that has been loyal to the NDC.
She argues that the youth and women of Bongo Constituency, for the over three decades of NDC’s reign, have not significantly benefited from any meaningful development.
“You can see that party faithfuls, party executives present, and former are fully present. You can see my fellow aspirants were also around and the messages that have been given so far, tell me that it is a unity walk and truly, we shall become victorious come 7th December.
The Bongo people have shown loyalty to the NDC but in terms of development, they have not gotten much and that is why they have resolved to vote for the NPP. The only constituency that hasn’t changed is Bongo but for once, the people of Bongo want to change and to see what the change will bring to them,” she stated.
On his part, Jonathan Abugre, Youth Organizer of the NPP in Bongo, says the event was to deal with cracks within the party, insisting that the party is securing victory in December.
