11 keep fit clubs in the Upper East Region participated in the 2024 edition of the Regional National Sports Authority(NSA) fun games.
The fun games, which was held on Saturday October 12, 2024, saw the clubs display spectacular skills in various sporting activities in a bid to claim the ultimate in each competition.
At the end of the games, 3 teams stood out, emerging victors of the various sporting activities.
Magani won the volley ball and the lime on spoon race competitions after outclassing all their competitors in the two activities.
Global also emerged champions in two distinct categories, winning the tag of peace and sack race games with Rockland winning the soccer competition.
This year’s edition of the games was not just for fitness and the fun of it as the name suggests.
It was also aimed at promoting peace ahead of the general elections in December.
As a result, the National Sports Authority and the Upper East Regional Coordinating Council in Collaboration with the Upper East Regional Keep fit clubs executives organised a peace health walk under the theme: KEEPING FIT FOR PEACEFUL ELECTIONS.
The health walk was graced by keep fit clubs members and fans from far and near who walked through the Principal street of the Bolgatanga Municipality on September 21, 2024, emphasizing the need for conduct that promotes peace.
High profile personalities from the National Sports Authority(NSA) led by IBRAHIM ALHASSAN JIHAD, the Upper East Regional Coordinating council, executives of the various keep fit clubs and the Upper East Regional Command of the Ghana police service were among participants of the walk.
