As part of efforts to improve the quality of elementary education, Desert Pastures International School, a private educational institution in Bolgatanga in the Upper East Region has built an ultramodern 16-classroom block meant to serve as preschool.

The new block, located at Zorbiisi, was constructed  at an estimated cost of 8 million cedis with support from partners including Standing with Mama Rosemond, the Eastwood Anaba Ministries Partners and Friends, Fountain Gate Chapel and Kingdom Agreement (KIA) followers.

It  has essential facilities such as a sickbay and large air-conditioned bistro to cater for the health and feeding needs of pupils.

An IT compliant, it is fitted with an ICT centre, modern furniture, interactive boards and LED screens to facilitate teaching and learning and game equipment for extracurricular activities.

The new block is essentially to facilitate the permanent relocation of the preschool from its present site at Dapore-tindongo and to incorporate technology in the education of children.

Director of the school, Rev. Rosemond Anaba, who spoke at a ceremony to commission the new building, explained that the present site of the preschool at Dapore-tindongo could no longer contain the school’s growing population and thus, necessitated the relocation to a more conceive environment.

“To provide a more conducive environment for teaching and learning, it became necessary to move to a larger location, which is the Wisdom Campus here,”  she stated.
