Philip Nabizee Yeli-Oni has taken over as the Club President, of the Rotary Club of Bolgatanga -Goodwill for the Rotary year, 2024-2025. He has since pledged to make the club visible with what he describes as life-transforming projects for various communities in the Upper East Region.
Since its inception in 2011, the club has strived to positively impact communities with various achievements, including establishing a foundational project like hand-dug wells in Bawku, Garu, and Tempane areas.
Subsequent years saw them intensify efforts to execute projects with 13 hand-dug wells in the 2012/2013 Rotary year. Boreholes and town water systems were provided in Bawku, Tongo, Bongo, and the Kassena Nankana West District in the 2015/2016 Rotary Year. In that same year, the club organized a blood donation exercise.
The 2018/2019 year saw the club execute 2 mechanized boreholes, 26 hand pumps and 243 micro flush toilets.
In 2023, the club handed over a mechanized water system for Zuarungu Senior High School students in the Bolgatanga East District.
With the theme for the 2024-2025 Rotary year being “The Magic of Rotary,” the club is focusing on innovation, transformation, and impactful service to launch exciting new projects, fostering growth and creating magical transformation in communities.
Having taken from John Azam as Club President, Mr. Yeli-Oni, pledged to make the club more visible with life-changing and tangible projects.
He views his election as a call to serve humanity since Rotary is about service above self.
“Since Rotary is about ‘Service Above Self’, I understand perfectly well that I have been called upon to team up with the Board and fellow Rotarians as well as all relevant stakeholders to serve humanity in the Upper East region and beyond. I believe in teamwork, therefore, I call on all and sundry to join us make Rotary visible in Upper East not just on billboards but with tangible, sustainable, and life-changing projects such as the provision of boreholes, toilet facilities, and furniture to deprived communities and schools that will impact lives positively.” He stated
Nabizee Yeli-Oni, in an interview with Dreamz News, indicates that more senior high schools and communities will get attention as he calls on members of the public to join the club to serve humanity.
