The Public Utilities Regulatory Commission in the Upper East Region is cautioning members of the public against engaging the services of electricians, who are not certified by the National Energy Commission to provide engage in any form of wiring.
The Regional Manager of PURC, Seth Kponyo, stated that it is only certified electricians who must be engaged to wire any structure.
Speaking Wednesday on Utility Hour, Mr. Kponyo, said it is illegal for people to engage electricians who are not certified.
“Don’t engage someone who is not certified and then you go and submit the form to another who has the license to stamp. That’s illegal” .
He added that, “If you any NEDCO offices of out stations and you request that you want a certified electrician in your community, they will give you a contract. Their names and numbers are usually displayed on the notice board”.
