In a bid to explore the positive economic impact of agriculture in Ghana’s Upper East Region, James Nana Tsiquaye of Dreamz News paid a visit to Abotineriba Farms in Dua-Yikene, Bongo.
The farm, which specializes in commercial poultry, pig, fish, guinea fowl, goat, and sheep farming, has been making waves in the region with its commitment to quality, customer satisfaction and community empowerment.
According to Farm Manager David Akiyo, the secret to their success lies in their attention to details and dedication to quality products.
“We have a team of specialists who ensure that our animals receive the right medication and feed in the right quantities. We prioritize the health of our birds to ensure they lay healthy eggs,” he explained.
But Abotineriba Farms’ impact goes beyond just producing high-quality products. Over the years, the farm has been giving back to the community through various initiatives.
One such initiative is the distribution of free poultry birds to community members for rearing. This gesture has been a game-changer for the local economy, creating jobs and empowering families.
By providing community members with the opportunity to rear their own poultry birds, Abotineriba Farms has helped to boost the local economy and improve livelihoods. This is a testament to the farm’s commitment to social responsibility and community development.
The farm’s plans for expansion, which include increasing its bird population to over 8,000 in the next five years, are expected to further boost the local economy, according to Mr Akiyo.
With its focus on quality, community development, and job creation, Abotineriba Farms is an inspiration to entrepreneurs and farmers alike, demonstrating the potential of agriculture to drive growth and development in Ghana.
