In a dramatic turn of events, the baby allegedly stolen from Zebilla District Hospital has been found safe and sound, thanks to a timely tip-off from a local chief.

The suspect [woman, name withheld], who had been pretending to be pregnant, has been arrested and transferred to the Bawku Police station.

According to Dr. Ayobi Abdul Rahman, who works at the Zebilla District Office, the Chief’s information led the police to the whereabouts of the stolen baby, bringing an end to the desperate search launched by the Zebila police command.

The suspect, who had been avoiding societal pressure after a year of marriage without a child according to sources, had deceived her family by faking a pregnancy.
