President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has rejected assertions that he is cutting sod for projects that have no funding sources.
According to him, for every project he cut sod for, there is properly secured funding for completion of those projects.
The President who cut sod for the construction of the 71 kilometer Enchi-Elubo road in the Western North region on Friday said “I am not like some people who rush to cut sods without securing the requisite funding for the projects. I will never do that. When I cut the sod, it means all the processes have been completed and the money for the project is available. I am not out to deceive anyone”.
President Nana Addo stressed that he is committed to serving the nation in truth and honestly, reiterating that he wants to be judged by Ghanaians as a truthful president.
“When I was running for President in 2016, my opponents went around the country saying that whatever I said I was going to do was a lie. They said I could not do Free SHS because it would take 20 years to implement. Have I not done it?” He questioned.
In the lead up to the general election in December, several sod cutting ceremonies have been held by the president during his tour of regions in the country. A situation the National Democratic Congress flagbearer and former President John Dramani Mahama has described as a deceit of the Ghanaian people.
