“Always have an exit plan!” These words of wisdom from a former Upper East Regional Minister, Tangoba Abayege, could serve as a guiding principle for many.
In a Facebook post, Tangoba shared her inspiring story of how she turned her dream into a reality through determination, hard work, and careful planning.
Her dream of building a school to provide quality education at an affordable price was conceived 20 years ago.
Despite logistical challenges, she persisted, saving every cedi, dollar, and euro she earned or received as a gift.
“I remember using all my accumulated salary for the piece of land my school stands on now. I just signed the entire sum off and actually borrowed additional money to acquire that piece,” she recalled.
Through her modest lifestyle and wise investments, Tangoba said, she was able to achieve her dream of building the Tangoba Legends School three years ago, single-handedly and without any financial obligations.
She acknowledged, “I look back with pride on this feat. But it took a lot of sacrifices to reach here”.
As part of her exit plan, Tangoba aimed to retire comfortably, free from exhaustive work, and enjoy the fruits of her labor.
By planning ahead, she was able to retire from SSNIT a year earlier than expected, receiving her pension with joy and contentment.
“I’m glad that a community is being served quality education and my dream has been fulfilled,” she added.
