Municipal Chief Executive for Bolgatanga Rex Asanga says the Akufo-Addo-led government deserves praises for making huge investments in the construction of roads especially within the Upper East Regional capital.
Rex Asanga said the government has made substantial amount of investment in a bid to improve road network particularly in the regional capital.
As a result, he stated, many roads are being undertaken and when completed, will significantly improve road network in the area.
This, he claimed, is unprecedented. He argued that the issue of poor roads would have been addressed by now if previous governments had made similar investments.
“This government must be commended for the investment in our road sector especially within our municipality. I don’t think it has happened before,” he stated in an interview on A1 Radio in Bolgatanga.
“If that was the rate at which previous governments were doing the roads in town, by now we would have had almost every road tarred”.
The Bolgatanga MCE said this while giving updates on the progress of construction works on some roads in the municipality.
He indicated that most of the contractors were on site working and he is hopeful that works will be completed as scheduled.
