The main opposition National Democratic Congress in the Upper East Region has announced the death of its Communication Officer for the Bolgatanga Central Constituency.
David Agorogo reportedly died today at the Upper East Regional Hospital where he was receiving treatment.
He was said to have battled a chronic illness before succumbing on April 22, 2024.
In a statement signed by the Upper East Regional Communication Officer of the NDC Abdallah Jonathan Salifu, the party expressed sadness over his death.
“We are deeply saddened by his death,” the party in the statement said.
While condoling with the bereaved family, it indicated that it has indefinitely suspended all activities relating to communication in his honour.
“During this difficult time, we extend our deepest condolences to the bereaved family. Our thoughts and prayers are with them as they navigate through this challenging period. May the Almighty grant them strength and solace”.
It added, “In honour of our departed comrade, all party communication activities will be suspended until further notice for his dedicated and unwavering commitment to our cause”.
Meanwhile, a burial ceremony is scheduled to be held tomorrow to lay him to rest in accordance with Islamic tradition.
