Media conglomerate EIB Network says it has launched an investigation into a leaked private video involving an employee of one its subsidiaries Gh One TV.
Serwaa Amihere, a broadcaster with Gh One TV has become the talk of town after a video tape allegedly involving her emerged on social media.
In the less than a minute video that has gone viral, a lady purported to be the broadcaster is seen with a man, both of them are appeared naked and making out while the said lady records their act.
The state has since arrested 2 persons and slapped criminal charges against them and one other person, who is reportedly on the run, for behind the leakage of the nude video.
The state accused the 3 of threatening and extorting monies from the broadcaster with her nude videos and subsequently, leaking them despite receiving the ransom they had demanded in order not to release the video.
In a statement dated April 10, 2024, management of EIB Network, a subsidiary of which Serwaa works, acknowledged the actions taken by the state but it indicated that it has launched a separate probe into the matter and will publish the findings as soon as the investigation is concluded after which further measures will be taken.
“Management has also decided to conduct an independent investigation into the circumstances surrounding the release of the said video. The company will accordingly publish the findings of the independent investigation as soon as same is completed and further measures will be taken thereafter” .
It added, “The EIB brand remains steadfast in its commitment to integrity and accountability and appreciates the continuous support of our stakeholders”.
