Musician Atimbila says he is sad that he has no literacy skills.
The musician believes having some literacy skills would have helped in developing his career and positioning him to excel in the industry.
However, he dropped out of school at elementary level and has since not had an opportunity to be enrolled in any formal education.
According to Atimbila, his father opposed him going to school, forcing him to truncate his education at Primary 3 and was home tending to his animals.
Despite his age and being at the peak of his career, Atimbila wishes to return to school.
For him, being literate is crucial in his growth as a musician.
“I wished I had some high level of education. I’m unhappy that I can’t read and write. If I get the opportunity, I’ll return to school. If they say sign, I can’t. It’s bad. I wish someone can help me, I shouldn’t be in this situation. I’m sad about my situation. If I get a teacher to teach me, I will be happy,” he stated.
The musician said this in an interview on Breakfast Today on Dreamz FM.
He decried what he said is the exploitation of his craft to his disadvantage.
He claimed some persons are using his works to make money online without compensating him in any form.
This, in his view, is a total rip off and he intends to take action against such individuals.
