Atinga Nsobila Joel seeks to break a Guinness World Record

After graduating from the University for Development Studies (UDS) Navrongo Campus now CK Tedam University of Technology and Applied Sciences and with no prospects of employment in sight, Atinga Nsobila Joel, who now intends to break a Guinness World Record decided to return to his father’s business of grilling Khebab in the National Capital, Accra.

According to Joel, though he was not employed in any other sector after graduating, he decided to apply his knowledge from the university in taking the family business a notch higher.

In the wake of recent Guinness World Record attempts, Joel who hails from Tindonsobligo, a suburb of Bolgatanga in the Upper East Region, has decided to attempt the world record for the Longest Barbecue Marathon.

His journey starts on 11th-14th April, 2024 as he describes the decision to take his passion of grilling Kheba a step further.

Sharing his experience Wednesday on the State of Our Nation, Young Atinga, explained that many hold the notion that people preparing khebab are uneducated people from Northern Ghana hence his desire to attempt the world record to tell a different story.

“There is a notion that people who grill kebab are uneducated people from the Northern part of Ghana. That’s the perception people have. So I want to use this as a medium to disabuse the wrong notion about it.

I think Guinness world record is an opportunity for me to project the people of the Upper East Region, to market ourselves globally,” he stated.
