Communication and Advocacy Manager at Afrikids Ghana Raymond Akolbire Ayinne is urging Ghanaians to work diligently to make the country better.
He said despite concerns and anger about happenings in the country in recent times, Ghana remains the only home for citizens thus, they must endeavour to make it a safe haven for their living.
“No matter how bitter you are about Ghana, it is still your Ghana. You don’t have another Ghana else and that’s why it’s important that we all work collectively to make Ghana save and secure for all of us,” he stated.
He noted that the development of the country is a collective responsibility thus, every citizen regardless of their political and social standing should get involved in its developmental struggle.
“How we can improve on our values like honesty, integrity, hard work, loyalty? It’s not one person that can develop this country and it is not one politician that can develop this country.
Whether you are a party in opposition or you are party in government, you have a responsibility to making Ghana a better because it is the only place you call your country”.
Akolbire Ayinne was speaking on Ghana’s 67th Independence journey in an interview on Breakfast Today on Dreamz FM.
He observed that Ghana has failed to make progress in spite of its huge potentials.
The Afrikids’ Communication and Advocacy Manager blamed this lack of progress on attitudinal and the kind of education received at homes and at schools.
He noted that education in the country has failed to instil values and integrity in citizens reason the pervasive corruption in the country.
He believes attitudinal change and education will bring the needed progress the country desired.
“We can talk about we should change our attitude as Ghanaians” .
