It has emerged that more metropolitan, municipal and district chief executives could be losing their positions soon.

This has been disclosed by Peter Ayamga Ayinbisa, Director of Communications of the governing New Patriotic Party, NPP in the Upper East Region.

The revelation comes just days after the David Amoah of Bolga East and Ahmed Tahiru Issahaku of Bawku West District were among MMDCEs that have been removed from office.

It is unclear why the two have been removed but information made available suggests more are likely to fall.

Speaking Monday on the State of the Nation, Mr. Ayinbisa disclosed that there is information suggesting that some may equally be replaced.

“Unfortunately, our friends here in Bolga East and Bawku West have been part of the casualties for the first batch of MMDCEs that have been replaced. We are getting indication that some more are likely to go. This might be the first batch. It’s not anybody’s prayer that some people’s appointment should be revoked”.

He adds that emerging issues point to challenges with working closely with party executives and stakeholders in their respective districts.

“It’s just normal in political game that from time to time, they substitute people just like football people you think that are getting weak and weak day by day. People whose complaints have gotten to you – either they are not supporting the parliamentary candidate or they are not working closely with the party, they are not working closely went district in which they’ve been representing the president. These are some of things we are picking from grapevine,” he stated.
