Founder and leader of Amazing Power Church International (APCI) Prophet Joseph Billa has described BBC’s Africa Eye documentary on late Nigerian televangelist T. B Joshua as a demonic agenda to destroy the Christian faith.
The three-part documentary titled ‘Disciples: The Occult of T. B Joshua’ revealed allegations of sex crimes the prophet, as he was referred to, committed under the guise of doing the work of God.
Former members of his Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN), who were his right-hand men and women, disclosed how the late pastor staged miracles and circulated recordings of same just to attract particularly white members to his church.
Some of the people especially teenagers who were inspired by these staged miraculous videos to attend his church were purportedly lured to become his disciples.
Members of the disciples, who spoke in the documentary, recounted being physically, emotionally and sexually assaulted by Joshua.
Others say they became pregnant after he repeatedly raped them and were forced to terminate the pregnancies.
His right-hand men and women corroborated these accounts, stating that the televangelist had a team that fished out teenagers for him to sexually abuse them.
But reacting in a Facebook post, Prophet Billa intimated that the claims that the late televangelist choreographed miracles are ridiculous, describing the entire investigative piece as a satanic agenda to destroy the Christian religion.
“BBC, how can you say all T B Joshua miracles were faked, even the miracles in stadiums of other countries? That is serious satanic agenda to kill the faith of many” he stated on Facebook.
He urged believers, who may be doubtful of T. B spiritual powers, to seek the truth from the holy spirit and not the BBC.
“Please, believers around the world if you want to know how genuine the TB Joshua ministry is kindly ask the holy Spirit and not BBC”.
