You know him as a ‘judge’ in the popular comical series Kejetia Verse Makola, but what you may not have known about him is his place of origin – where comes from.
Louis Lamis has revealed that he is from the Nabdam District in the Upper East Region.
Speaking on why he had chosen the region as the place to premiere his latest movie Banana and Melon, Lamis said it is his desire to make his home region the centre of entertainment in the country.
He stated that his experience in his hometown showed that there are not a lot of entertainment activities in the area, making it less lively.
He, therefore, decided to screen every movie his outfit produces as a way of opening up the region for entertainment.
Disclosing how passionate he is about projecting his hometown, he indicated that he intentionally made characters in the Kejetia Verse Makola movie to mention the town’s name in a bid to draw attention to it.
“In some of the court’s cases, people think it is fun, we intentionally talk about it. We walk about Kongo a lot in my series. I intentionally make them talk about it to draw attention to the town. People hear and they are like is it Congo Brazzaville of DR. Congo? I said no, there’s Kongo in Ghana. I put on my shoulder to make sure that Kong hits the map,” he stated in an interview on Dreamz FM.
He added that he is establishing a new film company and will name it after the town.
“I’m actually creating a new company, I’m going to call it Kong. So if you are watching in Hollywood, you see the name of the company, Kong and you are like ‘what does it mean?’ and they say ‘oh, it’s a town in Ghana’. So my hometown is on my shoulder. I take it everywhere”.
