The District Chief Executive for Talensi Thomas Duanab Wuni says he is not disappointed about his defeat in the governing New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) parliamentary primaries in the constituency.
Thomas Duanab Wuni, who has been contesting the Talensi seat on the ticket of the NPP since 2015, lost a bid to represent the party again in 2024.
In what could be described as a fierce contest, he secured 196 votes to lose the bid to Robert Ayinenaba Alibo, his long-term contender, who amassed 235 votes.
The other contender, William Zoogah followed distantly with 82 votes.
Speaking to Dreamz News after the declaration of the results, Duanab Wuni said although he had hoped to win, he is not hurt that he lost.
He pledged to lead the party’s campaign for the general elections in the constituency.
“I am DCE, that’s what’s next for me. I am in government and I want my party to remain in government. I have no option but to work hard. I will be the lead campaigner in this district. I have no option and I am democrat. When I lose an election, I lose gracefully,” he stated.
“I don’t feel let down. These are normal happenings in life, you win or you lose. Twice, I won, somebody wins once and I blame God? Not at all. It is his time. I’m not love to win but I am not hurt”.
