Nollywood actor, Yul Edochie says he would have died due to cyberbullying if he was not a strong person.
According to him, since news broke last year that he took a second wife, social media influencers especially bloggers have been concocting stories and peddling same just to gain tractions.
He said, for over a year now, he has been a subject of verbal attacks and curses on particularly social media platforms due to these fabricated stories.
But for his strong personality, he stated, he would have been driven to an early grave or into depression as a result of the constant cyberbullying he has been subjected to.
“The bullying, insults, curses etc. I have received on the internet for over one year is enough to kill or drive (me) to depression”.
Yul said this while tackling those calling for investigation into the death of budding Nigerian musician, Mohbad following allegations that he suffered constant verbal and physical abuse from his former record label and its boss, Naira Marley even after he exited the label.
With the #JusticeForMohbad, many Nigerian internet users including celebrities are piling pressure on authorities to pick up Naira Marley and some members of his crew for questioning over the death of the young musician.
But taking to social media, Yul questioned why they did not demand justice for him when he was alive but waited until he died before making such a call.
Describing them in unpalatable words, he said they are not different from those who allegedly bullied the musician to his death.
“All of those posting Jutice for Mohbad including the Nollywood people who have joined the call are not different from the people that maltreated Mohbad. You’re all demons and wicked people, simply chasing clout,” he wrote.
“You’re all the same people who have been insulting me for over one year, bullying me on the internet, trying so hard to kill me over an issue that doesn’t concern you”.
